Happy New Year to all!

This will obviously be my last post of the year. Haven’t posted for quite a while so I thought I’d better get busy. This year has went by so fast. It’s been a good one to say the least. The Holidays came and went and I had a great time. Looking forward to the year ahead and will be very happy to see what the universe has to offer me.

Winter is certainly here. We currently have snow and it looks like there is some freezing rain headed our way. So, if you are out and about tonight, be careful my friends.

Pardon the Interruption

in which I apologize for slacking on my blogging duties…

Well, it looks like is been about a month since I’ve posted anything. I seem to go through phases of wanting to post all the time and then not posting for weeks on end. I could try to justify my laziness but I won’t. I am truly lazy and that’s all there is to it.

It’s been a busy month. I went back to full-time work last week and still trying to adjust to waking up at 6:00 am. It’s getting easier but still, 6:00 am SUCKS! Not complaining, just sayin’.

Been hanging out with Teh [new] GF and totally diggin’ it. We’re getting along great and looking forward to the days ahead. We took a little trip last week to Leavenworth, Wa. for Oktoberfest. Stayed in Wenatchee and even took a run up to Lake Chelan just for the hell of it. Had an absolute blast! If you have never been to Oktoberfest, I highly recommend it. I mean, what could be better than large quantities of awesome beer and meat?

Halloween is just around the corner and it looks like we’re going to Stanger’s party out on Sapolil road Saturday. Teh GF will be dressing up as the sexy correctional officer and I will be the criminal. I should feel right at home. HA! There will be drinking, foodz and music. Should be a good time.

I’m sure that I could write all kinds of witty things this morning but I won’t. I’ve had a cold for the last 5 or 6 days and just don’t feel up to it.

Gratitude

in which I make a list of things I’m thankful for…

My website has been bouncing lately so I thought I’d get a quick post out while I can. The server that this site is hosted on is having issues and there is a chance that I may be moving the site soon. My content is backed up and I’m ready to move it if need be.

Below is a list of thing I’m thankful for today…

7. I have gizmo’s and gadgets a PC, Internet and HDTV

9. I have a beautiful mind that still works, despite all of my past drug use and drinking

11. I have many talents, whether I use them or not

12. I have love in my heart and feelings, opposed to being hateful and numb

13. I have a yard to mow

14. I have the freedom to do as I please

21. I have hope that keeps me going, even when things get rough

I could probably go on but this should suffice. Sometimes I need to remind myself that everything is OK. I think that all of us forget, from time to time, that it’s OK to be right here, right now, doing exactly what we are doing. Nothing more or nothing less.

Pulling weeds

literally and digitally…

Well, it’s Wednesday, I’m done with work and home to relax a bit. Having a beer and getting ready to go do some weeding around the house. I weed the flowerbeds one week and they’re full of more weeds the next. I’m pretty lazy, for the most part and loathe manual labor. So there are times when I have to force myself to do the work that needs to be done around here. The yard managed to survive the heat wave we had last week and it’s once again growing and wanting to be mowed. All good.

I also will be pulling some weeds online. The deleting/removing/blocking/unlinking of unwanted or useless content from my website and other forms of social networking that I dabble in. Not trying to be an asshole or anything but I’ll be damned if I continue to be spammed, ignored, bothered or blasted with useless data that really means nothing to me at this point in my life. I just don’t have room for it any longer and that’s just the way it is.

My website has been bouncing lately and apparently the server was totally rebuilt last week. Special thanks to Mush and Keef for giving me a place to host. It still seems to be a little funky and I’ll be updating my WP installation soon in hopes of some stability. I now have a current backup and hope I don’t hose it when I try the WP update. It should be OK as I’ve done it before but if it’s not, please be patient and I’ll make it work.

In other news, I’ve been totally diggin’ the cooler weather and I hope to never see another 100 degree day for the rest of the summer. It just wears me out.

I also have three or four days of vacation time left and thinkin’ that I might want to use them soon. Not sure where I want to go but they are there for the taking and I could use a break right about now. I feel as if I have been pushing too hard to make things good for myself and might want to just relax and let life run its course.

Not much news but that’s what I’ve got for now…

This little piggy went to market

in which I found some killer BBQ at our local Farmers Market…

I’ve kept busy this morning. I’m not used to having the weekends off so I sometimes don’t know what to do with myself. I slept in ’til about 9 or so, made some coffee and had a smoke in the shed while waiting. Pretty much my normal routine every morning. Finally got motivated and decided to get dressed and do something constructive.

Since it’s been so hot lately, I decided to go ahead and get the yard mowed before it got too hot. Ended up just doing the front, set some sprinklers and called it good. I might get to the back later but I doubt it. Tomorrow morning will be better. Anyway, I finished up with the mowing, hopped in the shower cuz I smelled like hell and decided to get my head shaved.

Stopped by the ATM to grab some cash and headed down to Antonio’s for a good shavin’. Love those guys, they do a good job and always trim my eyebrows. hehe I had to wait for quite a while cuz everyone and their kids were waiting for a cut. All good.

Decided to take a walk downtown so I stopped at the Farmers Market to take a gander. I wandered around for a bit and stumbled across a killer little BBQ stand the smelled heavenly. Checked the menu and the Pulled Pork sandwich was calling my name. I mean, omgwtfbbqsauce! I paid 5.00 for a delicious, fresh, juicy sammy that I quickly drenched with their awesomesauce. Found the nearest place to sit and devoured it. Damn good! May have to go back for another in the near future.

Back at the house now and have decided to chill and maybe play some WoW later. May go run and instance or see if I can PuG a 10 man Naxx or something. Either way, I’m gonna try to stay out of the heat today and rehydrate my body a bit. Perhaps a little nap to boot!

Done with the week

in which I’m glad it’s over…

Just got off the clock and came home to sit in the shed and have a cocktail. I worked today even though I was suppose to have it off due to the new schedule. I agreed to work it cuz it was my co-workers birthday and no one else would do it. It was busy so the time passed quickly but it still made for a six day week with only one day off. Will have Sunday off to recover and then right back at it on Monday.

It’s been a long and roughsauce week for me. Been dealing with my internal landscape and getting my head in a good place. Adjusting to the new schedule and trying to get some shit done around here. I managed to get the shed cleaned up, the yard is looking pretty good, did a bunch of laundry and picked up my apartment. Getting off at 2pm has given me lots of time to do things. I got out and played 9 holes or golf with @smugirishman on Thursday. Had a good time and played well. Shot a 45 on the front 9 and called it a day. Striking the ball well but still got into troubles a few times. All in all, it was good times and I hope I can get out there more often. Love that silly game.

Been trying to keep busy and keep my head in the now. So far so good. An idle mind is the Devil’s workshop as they say so I’ve been keeping pretty busy and thinking good thoughts about life in general.

Setup some new sets on my Flickr account and updated a few too. I have been slacking and haven’t been keeping it organized very well. I seem to have accumulated a ton of pics from the last year. Glad I have them as it’s nice to look back at all the cool shit I’ve done.

Other than that I’m just glad this week is over. Who knows what the days ahead will bring but I’m ready for whatever the Universe hands me.

An epic week

in which I’ve been having hella fun…

Let’s rewind to the 17th. I took a 4 day vacation for my Birthday and started off with a round of golf with Caddy out at the Wildhorse Casino & Golf Resort. One of my favorite corses to play. It’s a beautiful and well managed course and priced right. I think it was 41.00 for 18 holes and a cart. We had a blast and I played pretty well despite the amount of beer I consumed.

The following day I took Teh GF to the Couer d’ Alene Resort over in Idaho for the weekend. We had a gorgeous room with an awesome view of the mountains and lake. A really nice place to hang. We had cocktails and some really good foodz there and took a quick trip down to one of the local casinos just to goof off for a bit. The drive was really nice, too and we both really needed a break from the daily grind and all. Good times. We came back on Sunday and just chilled for the rest of the day. I took Mush home later that evening cuz she had to work in the morning. I played some WoW fora bit and then headed to bed.

The following day I had a Tee Time at the WW Country Club to golf with Ray, the owner of the P&E. He offered to take me out cuz I’ve been trying to play that course for more than 10 years. We blasted off at 1:15 and got around the course in just under 4 hours. It’s a really nice course and I’m looking forward to playing with him again in the future. Thanx Ray! You Rock!

I made it through the week and now my weekend is here. Tonight we are having a BBQ over at Teh GF’s house in celebration of my Birthday and a house warming for JayRob. I’ll be grillin’ dead animals and drinking beer in a couple of hours. w00t!

I have a couple of days off and will tackle some more of the yardwork. Alot to do around here and it just isn’t gonna get done unless I do it.

Is it Spring yet?

in which I’m totally digging the warmer weather…

It looks like our Winter has decided to leave and in comes Spring. It’s about time! The last few days have been much warmer and I’ve noticed that my lawn is starting to grow. I’m totally ready for it. We had a pretty bad Winter this year. Massive snow and it seemed like it would never go away. But now it’s looking great. Gonna have to buy a new lawn mower though as my old one died last summer. Lot’s of yard work to do as well but I’m ok with that and I certainly need the excersise.

I wanna get some serious golfing in this year as I didn’t play much last season. I’m trying to book a stay and play package over at Wildhorse for my Birthday next month and will have Caddy come over to play and bring the GF along for sure. Just hope that the weather holds up and doesn’t decide to rain or anything.

I went out with Mush last night to the P&E. Took her Bro and ran into alot of my old friends there. It was really nice to see so many of them in the same place at the same time. Miss those guys. Anyway, we had a blast and gotta hammered on Vodka before we decided to leave and hit Taco Hell up for a drunken bedtime snack. Gotta love or uh, hate that shit. lol

Looking forward to my weekend so I can sleep in and be a slug. God I love to just lay around and do nothing sometimes.

Work is slow today and I’m about an hour from quitting time. Gonna swing by the GF’s and probably head to my place for the night. No tanking for this kid, it’s my friday and I’m toast. Maybe watch some BBC and snuggle on the couch. That’s good with me!

OMG…a post

I know, I know…

Thought that I had better sit down and get something out here since I haven’t posted since last month. I always think about it but never seem to just do it. Everything here has been good. No complaints. Life just seems to roll along and next thing ya’ know it’s the middle of February.

I’ve really been enjoying the new PC. I just can’t tell you how nice it is to have some kick-ass gear up in the hizzie for a change. It just rocks! I haven’t had any troubles with Vista at this point other than it seems to relentlessly beat the shit out of my hard drive for no apparent reason. Haven’t quite figured out what process it is that causes it. May be Windows Defender or the indexing service. Not sure, but I can live with it for now as long as it keeps up with the WoW content. It’s all about the FPS and I haz lotz!

The weather here is starting to look more like Spring and less like Winter. I got to the golf course a couple of weeks ago and it was awesome. Looking forward to some golf as I didn’t play much last season. And with Spring will come yard work. Getting all the flower beds cleaned out and get the yard whipped into shape again. I’m gonna try to stay on top of it and do up it up right.

I took a look in the garage and found several item that I can Ebay off. I have a lot of spare high performance car parts that I’m just not using and probably never will if I haven’t used them by this time. So, I pulled 5 or 6 of them out and gonna setup some auctions and take the cash and buy a new pool cue. I’m looking at one of the new Cuetec cues. I’ll post a pic as soon as I get it.  I used to shoot a lot of pool and played league for a couple seasons back in the day. I shoot well. Srsly.  The owner of the P&E just put new felt on his table and it’s really rollin’ nice. He plays well and there are a couple of others that are pretty sharp, too. I don’t really mind shooting with a house stick but give me the real deal and it’s lights out.

I’ve been totally getting with the whole Bento Box program and really diggin’ then food instead of grazing on nasty-ass frozen shit out of the freezer every day. I’ve got two boxes now and getting some bento supplies to help with assembly. Now, if I can get used to getting up a little earlier to pack the damn things. I really don’t like mornings, they’re just too damn early!

Tonight I’m taking the GF home and we’re gonna have a tostada feast and maybe watch some cheesy Sci-Fi or maybe some BBC. I think she has a couple of netflix movies but I’m not sure what they are. Not that it really matters, cuz as long as I’m with my baby, I’m happy!

1st post of 2009

I know, it’s about time…

Well let’s see. For New Years Eve, the GF and I went to Portland to party with Adam and Adrienne. the drive over was fine, we swung by their place to change close and then headed out on the town for drinks. We basically did a pub crawl up and down Alberta St. and went back to base-camp before passing out around 4 in the morning. I had a fucking blast! The next morning or afternoon, we went for some foods and then walked around downtown Portland. The drive home was a little hectic due too massive rain and I mean massive. My wipers could barley keep up with it and visibility was next to nil at times but we made it home safely. Couldn’t of had a better time and will look forward to going back over for more fun in the near future.

Back in Walla Walla, it’s the same ol’ same ol’. Plenty of snow to deal with in which I’m totally sick of shoveling. I thank God that most of it has melted off for the time being. We have been getting a lot of rain and some flash flood warnings here and the surrounding areas. I think we’re going to have a rough Winter, unlike the mild Winters that we’ve had over the past 10 years or so. Oh well, a nice change of pace I suppose.

Work has been fairly slow this Holiday season. I too have slowed down and I’m currently revamping my sales game for the new year. I felt like I was burning out towards the tail end of ‘08 and now I’m lighting a fire under my ass to start the year off right. New workstation, renewed enthusiasm and cutting down on the smoking is a good start. I want to back off on the eating too as I feel like I’m growing to epic proportions. God knows I need it. lol

In other news, I just bought a new video card for my home PC because my old card just isn’t keeping up with all of the new and taxing content that WoTLK has to offer. I’ve been getting massive lag during game play and can’t take it any longer. I should see the new one this week sometime. Supramax will be slicin’ and dicin’ soon with frame rate to spare. w00t!

I joined a bowling league that plays every other Sunday night up at Bowlaway. Kinda filling in for Jayrob while he is doing other things. I play with M’s Uncle Dave, his wife Reva and a guy I went to school with back in the 90’s. Averaging 160 pins for the time being and hope to improve. Having a lot of fun and that’s the main thing.

Well, that’s about all I have for now. I’m getting ready to go have a cocktail with Mush and then gonna get a good nights sleep.
